As a child and teenager, I was curious about a wide range of topics: genetics, law and society, entertainment, Indian classical music, languages, and, more recently, mathematics. In the past, this made me quite confused about what I wanted to do with my life and career. However, with time, I’ve realized that, regardless of my questionable competency in these areas, I benefit greatly from embracing my varied interests. I am here at the Mosaic Society to embark on a path of expressing myself with unbridled curiosity.
I come from a family where gatherings often turned into lively debates, with my aunts, uncles, and grandfather discussing music, movies, philosophy, law, and politics for hours. My grandmother, with her occasional exasperated quips, would listen patiently until the conversation ended—often with ice cream, as we all cooled off.
Looking back, these discussions have become integral to who I am and how I experience the world. I see society as a tapestry, woven from countless interactions that both shape and are shaped by our collective beliefs. These reflections inspired my desire to create a space for collective exploration of our personalities, thoughts, beliefs, and society, which is why I identify as the “Civic Mosaic.” I hope to create a space where we can all question, dicover and embrace the various facets of our identities and the world we live in.
